Boil water advisory for the east side
A water main broke under Canal Street on Tuesday, October 6. Crews repaired it that night, but pressure dropped east of the Harrow River, so the water there has to be tested before the advisory can end. We expect to lift it on Friday, October 9, once two rounds of tests come back clean.
Until then
- Bring tap water to a rolling boil for one minute and let it cool before you drink it, cook with it, brush your teeth with it or make ice.
- You can use tap water for bathing and laundry. Help young children so they don’t swallow bath water.
- Free bottled water is at Fire Station 1, 210 Mill Street, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
We post an update here by 5 p.m. each day until the advisory ends.

Bills go out on the first of the month and are due on the 15th. Paying online or by phone costs nothing extra.

Upcoming meetings
Every meeting is open to the public and held at Town Hall, 100 Main Street, which has a step-free entrance on the north side. Agendas are posted at least two days ahead.

Leaf collection
Crews pick up loose leaves at the curb from Monday, November 2 to Friday, December 4. Rake them to the edge of your yard, not into the street, where they clog storm drains.

The lowest of three bids is $42,620 below the engineer’s estimate. The Town Council votes on it October 13.

It has a ramped deck, a swing built for wheelchair users and a rubber surface, so every child can reach every part of it.
