Valor MMO · The game

The game: a medieval world players share

Valor is an online role-playing game. Everyone logs in to the same world on servers we run, starts in the same town and makes a life there: gathering, crafting, fishing, jousting, racing boats, owning a house and fighting through keeps with friends. Every picture on this page is a capture from the game.

A character in a red dress and grey cloak walks beside a fenced path in Oakvale, with low-poly trees, a pond, a timber-framed hall and market stalls behind her.

Oakvale, the town everyone starts in

Oakvale is a walled castle town with a market, a tavern, a tournament ground, a harbor and a neighborhood of houses players can own. It is built by hand, building by building, in a clean low-poly style that runs well on an ordinary computer.

  • A day and night cycle and weather shared by every player
  • Shops, a bank, trainers and mentors, each a character with a name
  • Housing plots, travel shrines and a notice board for quests
Seen from above, a player and a hired companion fight skeleton soldiers on a red carpet inside a stone keep surrounded by lava, with red warning circles on the floor and a quest card at the bottom of the screen.

Combat you can read at a glance

Fights are built so a new player can see what is happening. An enemy’s big attack draws a red circle on the floor before it lands, health bars sit over every head, and a hired companion fights beside a player who has come alone.

  • Dungeons and keeps for one player or a party
  • Companions who follow, fight and can be given orders
  • A quest card that always shows the next step

The sea has dangers of its own

Beyond the harbor the water is open. Ships sail between islands, and the sea has hazards that are simulated on the server, so every player nearby sees the same whirlpool in the same place.

Boats, docks and the river race

Players build and moor boats, row the river race against each other for a place on the leaderboard, and fish from the quay. The docks are a working part of the town, not scenery.

The tavern darts game: a dartboard in the middle, a round counter and score on the left with a point guide and standings, and the controls on the right.

Small games inside the big one

A town needs things to do between adventures. The tavern has a darts board with a steady-hand aiming game, a dice table for two players and regulars who keep score against you.
